Production (Online ISSN: 1980-5411, Print ISSN: 0103-6513) is an open-access journal edited since 1990 by the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO). The journal publishes high-quality research in Production Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, and related interdisciplinary fields. As the journal continues to expand its international visibility and submission volume, the editorial leadership of Production invites qualified researchers to apply to join the journal’s editorial community as Associate Editors. The objective of this call is to strengthen the journal's editorial structure by engaging experienced scholars committed to maintaining rigorous peer-review standards and advancing research in production and operations management.

Associate Editor Positions

Associate Editors play a strategic role in ensuring the scientific quality and integrity of the journal’s editorial process. They are responsible for managing the peer-review process of submitted manuscripts, identifying appropriate reviewers, monitoring the progress of the review process, and providing recommendations to the Editors-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ reports and their own editorial judgement. Associate Editors are also expected to uphold the ethical standards of scholarly publishing and follow the journal policies described in the author and editorial guidelines.

Beyond managing submissions, Associate Editors may occasionally serve as reviewers for manuscripts in their area of expertise and contribute to the journal's strategic development by suggesting emerging topics, supporting special issues, and promoting the journal within the international research community.

Minimum Requirements for Associate Editors

Applicants for Associate Editor positions must hold a PhD in Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a closely related field, and must have obtained their doctoral degree at least five years prior to the application. Candidates should demonstrate a strong and consistent publication record and must have at least ten articles indexed in both Scopus and the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).

Applicants must also be Associate Members of the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO) at the time of appointment.

Applicants are required to submit a list of their five most relevant publications together with their application. Previous experience as a reviewer for international journals is expected, and prior editorial experience—such as serving as an Associate Editor, Guest Editor, or editorial board member—is considered a strong advantage.
