Dear Colleagues,
I hope this letter finds you well. It is an honor to assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of Production as of February 2024. I take on this responsibility with great enthusiasm, following the dedicated leadership of my predecessors, and I look forward to building upon the strong foundation they have established.
The mission of Production remains steadfast: to provide a respected, open-access platform for high-quality research in Operations, Manufacturing, Industrial, and Production Engineering and Management. With the continued support of ABEPRO (Brazilian Association of Production Engineering), we remain committed to ensuring accessibility to all researchers by maintaining a no-APC (Article Processing Charge) policy. Our journal is indexed in SCOPUS, SciELO, Redalyc, EBSCO, among others, reinforcing its global reach and academic impact.
As we move forward, I am committed to enhancing the journal’s editorial processes, improving review timelines, and increasing our impact within the research community. Currently, our editorial indicators are the following:

We are also honored to announce that we will soon publish the invited paper by Prof. Afonso Fleury entitled "The evolution of work design models toward I5.0 Humancentric and beyond", as part of the Thematic section Industry 5.0: Human-centric Production Management (Social Systems for Future manufacturing). On March 27th, Prof. Fleury will hold the webinar The Evolution of Work Towards Humancentrism. Registration is available at the following link: https://stsroundtable.com/upcoming/making-work-worth-doing/.
Looking ahead, we will continue working with different research societies to increase global audience and introduce special thematic sections on emerging topics in Production Engineering.
The journal thrives on the active participation of our community — as readers, authors, and reviewers. Your contributions are essential to its continued growth and excellence. I invite you to engage with Production, whether by submitting your research, providing peer reviews, or sharing your insights on advancing the field. Your expertise and engagement are crucial in shaping the journal’s future.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and I look forward to working together to further strengthen Production.
