CALL FOR THEMATIC SECTIONS: SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL BY DECEMBER 31st, 2024

The Production journal invites proposals for thematic sections on topics of relevance in the fields of Operations, Manufacturing, Industrial, and Production Engineering and Management. The aim is to foster in- depth and interdisciplinary discussions on contemporary challenges that impact both academia and practice.

Proposals for Thematic Sections should include the following:

  • Provisional Title: A clear indication of the theme of the Thematic Section.
  • Objectives and Rationale: Explanation of the relevance of the theme to Production Engineering and the academic community.
  • Topics of Interest: A list of topics to be covered in the Thematic Section. These topics should align with the journal’s scope.
  • Guest Editorial Team: Names, affiliations, and short bios of the guest editors. At least one editor should have significant academic experience and relevant publications on the proposed theme.
  • Outreach Strategy: Description of how the guest editors plan to promote the Call for Papers to attract high-quality submissions.
  • Timeline: proposed dates for opening and closing submissions, time for review, and publication.

Proposals will be evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief based on the following criteria: 

  • Relevance and timeliness of the proposed topic.
  • Potential for academic and practical impact.
  • Diversity, qualification, and internationalization of the guest editorial team.
  • Feasibility of the proposed timeline.

The Production journal (formerly, Produção or Producao) is the flagship journal of ABEPRO - Brazilian  Association of Production Engineering. Production (ISSN 0103-6513) was created in 1990 to serve as a channel of communication for academic articles in Production Engineering and Operations Management. The journal’s mission is to provide an internationally respected stream for original and relevant research related to Operations, Manufacturing, Industrial, and Production Engineering and Management.
