Resumo
Este trabalho apresenta um modelo de gerenciamento de portfolio, implementado em uma empresa prestadora deserviços de interconexão eletrônica. Com a aplicação do modelo proposto num universo de 143 projetos identificados, foi possível selecionar 20, por meio de técnicas e ferramentas do gerenciamento de portfolio. O estudo, realizado no segundo semestre de 2004, começou pela revisão da literatura sobre gerenciamento de portfolio. Em seguida, com base nessa literatura, foram gerados instrumentos de levantamento de dados, definidas estratégias de tratamento dos dados levantados e estabelecidos critérios de enquadramento, estratégicos etático-operacionais. Feito isso, com utilização dos gráficos de bolhas, os projetos foram selecionados. Identifica-ram-se os critérios que mais contribuíram para a avaliação de projetos - resultados de curto prazo, capacidade degeração de receitas e lucratividade. Também se constatou que 50% dos projetos selecionados pelo modelo pertenciam à área de marketing. O modelo de gerenciamento de portfolio que resultou desse estudo é acompanhado por um conjunto de recomendações dirigidas tanto aos praticantes quanto aos estudiosos do tema.

Abstract
This paper presents a model of portfolio management implemented in a data interchange company. The model resulted from a study of the company's projects undertaken in connection with a consulting assignment. From 143 projects identified at the outset of the study, only 20 were selected to be part of the portfolio. The study started with a portfolio management literature review. A set of data collection tools, data analysis strategies and classification criteria was developed on the basis of this review. Next, the use of bubble graphs allowed the projects to be selected. The project portfolio management model resulting from this assignment is described in the final part of this paper, together with propositions from the authors to practitioners and students of project and specially portfolio management.
